The BRC Program—What is Involved

This program began fifty years ago in California and has become the Gold Standard for motorcycle training both nationally and internationally. Most of the fifty states also accept successful completion of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Rider Course as fulfillment of all requirements for a state motorcycle license.

The goal is to assist the new rider in learning the necessary skills to ride safely on public roads. In addition, it serves as a great refresher for the returning licensed rider.

You will be using
our motorcycles. You can borrow one of our helmets free of charge or bring your own DOT approved helmet. We also have full-face helmets for sale.

The Basic Components

  • On-site day and a half with your personal rider coaches
  • Day-one riding session covers the basics of motorcycle operation and the basic skills
  • Day-two riding session provides continued practice and introduces more advanced skills
  • There is an on-site classroom component where you and your coaches will cover not only aspects of riding but how to deal with real-world situations as well. We also work with you to understand the mental and emotional parts of riding
  • At the end of day-two, you will complete a one-on-one riding evaluation

You must successfully complete all the above components to pass the course. In the event you are not successful with the riding evaluation, you get a second chance with us. We offer an additional practice session followed by a second riding evaluation free of charge. We usually offer these on both weekdays and weekends.

Get the skills you need to ride safely on any public road.
